Accommodation in the Seychelles Hotel accommodation in the Seychelles is generally regarded as being charming and relaxed, rather than sophisticated and pretentious. Hotels range from simple 3 room family-run guest houses to five star luxury islands, each with its own brand of ambience and hospitality.
The majority of hotels are relatively small by international standards, having on average approximately 10 to 35 rooms, which in itself makes Seychelles a more sought after destination. Hotel service tends to be relaxed and informal often with a sense of humour.
Seychelles Travel staff have lived in the Seychelles for many years and are able to provide a wealth of experience and knowledge to clients when choosing a hotel or island. Being an island destination, one thousand miles from anywhere, clients should also remember that they cannot always expect European standards in the hotels. Supplies are generally flown or shipped in by a fortnightly service which makes them more expensive than one would normally pay in Europe.
Seychelles offers both local Creole and International cuisine. Being descendants of French, British, Indian, African and Arabian settlers, this wonderful melting pot of races has evolved a unique Creole Cuisine, blending a mixture of fresh local produce such as fish, meats, vegetables, coconuts, herbs and spices into succulent and mouth watering recipies. Vegetarian meals are also available in most hotels.
